Self-Care for Achieving your New Year’s resolutions

Ah, a new year, a fresh start! The beginning of Earth’s next rotation around the sun ushers in a whole host of optimism as resolutions take shape aimed at improving ourselves.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that 71% of you will make it through this first week, that number will drop to 44.8% by July.

One component of habit-forming is to create a reward-system (articulated by Charles Duhigg in his book The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

The trick, is to make sure the reward isn’t in conflict with your resolution–if you want to get in shape, you shouldn’t reward yourself with a fancy cocktail, and if you are trying to be smarter about money, shouldn’t splurge on your reward too much.
