Each and every Monday, a dazzling array of artists and musicians will grace the Aurora stage to enact a performance which will benefit an organization selected as the chosen beneficiary of the month.
JUNE WILL BENEFIT: Rhode Island Pride!
The mission of Rhode Island Pride is to create opportunities for integrating and promoting visibility for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community; promoting equal rights and diversity through public education and the arts; provide safe opportunities and venues for people to come out with the ability to express and celebrate their sexual identities.
RI Pride is one of the most active and visible LGBTQ organizations in the New England region. They provide year-round programming, while supporting other LGBTQ community efforts, including Options Magazine. RI Pride provides resources and referrals to the LGBTQ commmunity, space for open house gatherings, community meetings, and celebrations. They produce the annual Pride Fest and New England’s only Nighttime Pride Parade which draws over 50,000 — LGBTQ and heterosexual individuals of all race, ethnicity, and age — to celebrate their individuality and their culture.
ALL FUTURE MONDAY SHOWS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
So how does it work???
Aurora provides a stipend to the performing artists, and a percentage of bar proceeds are donated to the benefit organization. Also available is a donation box for folks who want to be superstars and give more to the cause.
