Say it ain’t so! We’re in the dog days of summer now – the days are getting a little bit shorter, the nights a little bit cooler.

Annnnd there are lots of cute new arrivals to downtown Providence shops, which makes back-to-school shopping a little more tolerable!

Here’s what we found:

Homestyle (229 Westminster Street) has a great selection of educational cards, kits and games – like this Edible Chemistry Kit – to keep the learning going outside the classroom, in a fun and engaging way! Check out the store’s quirky books (for kids or adults). We also love the selection of colored pencils and markers.
Queen of Hearts & Modern Love (222 Westminster Street) has lots of good finds for high school and college (and lifelong!) students, including backpacks from Herschel and Fjallraven, canteens from Corkcicle, and handy Field Notes supplies. Plus, we love this To-Go Ware reusable snack carrier.
Why have a boring notebook when you can have a beautiful one? Symposium Books & Records (240 Westminster Street) just got a bunch in stock, many with famous paintings on the cover. Here are a couple of our favorite designs.
If you know a student heading to college this fall, how about sending them off with a care package filled with sweet and savory snacks? Serendipity Gourmet (173 Weybosset Street) has tons of unique items to choose from. We can’t get enough of these chickpea snacks!
