5 Upcoming Restaurant Pop-Ups in Providence

We have so many incredible restaurants and cafes in downtown Providence, RI that it’s hard to settle on which beloved spot to go to on any given day… (Should we grab drinks and snacks at a romantic cocktail bar? Should we plan for a decadent brunch this weekend? These are the questions.) But sometimes, there is something extra special that helps us make the decision: a unique pop-up at one of our go-to restaurants!

We’re here to share about upcoming pop-ups in Providence, including tap takeovers, visiting pastry chefs, and more that you won’t want to miss.

WHALER’S BREWING COMPANY AT THE MALTED BARLEY

Calling everyone who loves a good pint! The Malted Barley—on Westminster Street—is hosting Whaler’s Brewing Company for a fun tap takeover and pint night on Friday, March 29. Stop by between 6 and 9 p.m. There will be exclusive brews, savory handmade pretzels (have you had the mozzarella and tomato stuffed pretzel yet), and more during the event.

LITTLE FRIEND AT BOLT COFFEE

Over the last few weeks, Little Friend has taken over the kitchen for a couple of nights at Bolt Coffee on Washington Street. And they’re back every Friday, from 5-9:30 p.m. on March 29 through the end of April! Get a taste of spicy beef noodles, pressed sushi, green curry noodles, and more. (Pssst these are the folks you might know from the beloved but now closed restaurant “north.”)

SUCRÉE: A SWEET TASTING SOIREE AT GRACIE’S

Calling everyone with a sweet tooth (yeah, we’re right there with you): Gracie’s on Washington Street has something delicious planned. Head to Gracie’s on Sunday, April 21 for Sucrée: A Sweet Tasting Soiree. The garden-themed event will feature a lineup of local pastry chefs—including Melissa Denmark of Moonrose Farm, Kerri Spade of Ellies, and Caitlyn McGuire of Prica Farina—and their seasonal dessert creations, expertly paired with drinks, of course. Tickets—required—are $75 for those enjoying mocktails, and $100 for those choosing cocktails.

COMING UP IN MAY 2024: POP-UPS AT CLEMENTINE AND THE EDDY

We also hear that there are two exciting events coming up at cocktail bars in downtown Providence! Check out Eight Seas popping up at The Eddy (on Eddy Street) on Wednesday, May 1. Then on Thursday, May 9, head to Clementine Cocktail Bar on Washington Street for culinary guest chefs from a prominent university in the area. This is just a teaser, so keep an eye out for more details to come.
