The Malted Barley Providence is having its first annual Oktoberfest event! Enjoy autumn the way they do in Europe – outdoors, with lots of yummy food, entertainment, and of course, frothy, delicious brews. This event is free and open to the public.

As in Munich, (München in Deutchland) Oktoberfest is celebrated with friends, neighbors, and strangers on long, beer-hall style tables for communal feasting. These will be set up outdoors in the lot behind the Kinsley Building and Grace Church, so that revelers can admire the transitioning foliage and perfect temperatures! This event is rain or shine, and tents will be available in the event of inclement weather.

Delectable deutsche goodies such as pretzels, bratwurst, weisswurst, and knockwurst will be for sale in addition to warm German potato salad and sauerkraut. Got more of a sweet tooth? At Oktoberfest, you’ll find German chocolate cake, apple pie, and strudel. If the little ones have less adventurous palates, hot dogs and chips will also be available.

German Bands, Hofbrau Spielers, Bavarian Brothers Band, Old Post Road Oktoberfest Band, and the Vagabonds will be providing traditional musical entertainment, while lawn games keep the whole family entertained.

10 German and German-style beers will be offered for your perusal:

·       Schoffenhoffer Grapefruit ·       Von Trapp Oktoberfest
·       Braufactum Progusta ·       Von Trapp Helles
·       Hacker Pschorr Octoberfest ·       Von Trapp Dunkel
·       Weihenstephaner Fest ·       Von Trapp Pils
·       Weihenstephaner Kristal

·       Von Trapp Vienna Lager

Newly recognized awards winners such as the Braufactum Progusta compete with classics like Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest – except no matter what you pick, you don’t have to worry about losing!

Follow The Malted Barley on Instagram  and Facebook for the most up to date details. And don’t forget to RSVP!
