Parking in Downcity During the Holidays

You may have noticed that we love our local businesses and lovingly promote our favorite stores. We are Downtown Providence’s biggest cheerleaders, and regularly reap in the benefits of being so close to so much amazing commerce.

However, we understand that sometimes parking can be an issue for our neighbors outside of the district. That’s why we are thrilled to spread the word that the city has softened it’s parking rules, specially for the holiday season.

Shoppers can park for FREE for up to 2 hours at meters from 10 am to 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, from the day after Thanksgiving through January 1st. Downtown meters are included within the area bounded by Fountain Street, Memorial Boulevard, Weybosset, Empire and Friendship streets (from Dyer to Dorrance). Cars parked beyond the 2-hour time limit will still be ticketed during this period, so set that timer! As always, parking at night and on Sundays is FREE.
