Q: WHEN AND WHERE IS THIS THING?
A: Saturday, May 4th! We’ll be kicking things off at 11am and ending at 6pm. Find us in Grant’s Block (260 Westminster Street), in the parking lot adjacent to Grant’s Block, and along Westminster Street between Dorrance and Mathewson streets.
Q: WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
A: You might be able to find on-street parking or there are several parking lots close to Grant’s Block. Carpooling is encouraged! Biltmore Garage is just one block over on Washington Street. And there’s always Uber/Lyft.
Q: WHAT KIND OF FOOD WILL THERE BE?
A: We’ve got a fun variety of food, from poke bowls to burritos to pizza, and everything in between!
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
A: The event takes place rain or shine. If it’s raining, we recommend you dress appropriately! If it’s REALLY bad (like a hurricane or monsoon), we’ll post ASAP about cancellation.
Q: IS THE EVENT DOG FRIENDLY?
A: Yes, for friendly dogs, but keep in mind it can get very crowded. You know your dog best.
Q: IS THIS TACO FEST? WHAT HAPPENED TO TACO FEST?
A: Taco Fest was a blast, but it’s time for a new era of our spring block party. Did you know we’ve been doing a spring shindig for eight years now?! There will be many of the same elements we all love: food, bars, music, craft vendors, kids’ activities. And new this year, we’re trying out a plant and flower sale. You know, spring stuff.
Q: IS THE EVENT APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES?
A: Yes! The Providence Children’s Museum will be joining us with complimentary kids’ activities, plus we’ve got face painting (for a fee) and some more kid-friendly surprises.
Q: WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
A: Things kick off at 11 a.m. and go until 6 p.m.
Q: WHERE CAN I GET DAY-OF UPDATES?
A: We’ll be posting live updates on Instagram: @indowncitypvd
Q: IS IT FREE?
A: Yes, it’s free to attend! The food and drinks are priced by the vendors.
Q: DO VENDORS ACCEPT CARDS?
A: Most do. Never hurts to have some cash on hand.
Q: SO THERE’S A “ROCK AND ROLL YARD SALE” AT THE EVENT…?
A: Besides food and drink, you can also browse the Rock & Roll Yard Sale adjacent to Grant’s Block. There will be 50+ vendors selling vinyl records, vintage finds, and handmade items. See the full list of vendors here.
Q: WHAT’S THIS ABOUT PLANTS?
A: This year we’re thrilled to have 10 plant, farm and floral design vendors joining us! You can find them on Westminster Street. See the full list here.
Q: ARE THERE BATHROOMS?
A: There will be portajohns and handwashing sinks in the Clemence Street alley behind Grant’s Block (walk through the Rock and Roll Yard Sale to find them).
Q: IS THERE AN EVENT HASHTAG?
A: So glad you asked! YES, it’s #rockgardenparty
