122 Fountain st. :: Friday 21st :: DOORS OPEN AT 5:30pm, GAME BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 7 :: Free
Get ready for the next Trivioke!
The competition heated up along with the weather last month, and defending champions Farts & Trolls 420 achieved a three-peat with the win. Can they take home the title again this month and join The Bellbots and Never Guttenberg in the exclusive Four-Timers Club? Or will a new champ emerge? Find out at The Boombox. Sign up now by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
You love pub trivia. And you love karaoke. But have you ever wondered what would happen if those two crazy kids got drunk one night, made sweet, sweet lovin’, and then went half on a baby? Wonder no more: TRIVIOKE is at The Boombox on the second-to-last Friday of every month!
To win at TRIVIOKE, you’ll need to muster both your useless trivia knowledge and your best karaoke theatrics. Gather your friends and form a team. Then, be prepared to recall random facts, occasionally answer in the form of a song, and withstand the judgment of the Karaoke Challenge round. Your hosts John Taraborelli and Desiree Nash, and your fabulous bar maven Katie Masterson will keep the fun going.
There is no cover and it’s free to join the fun, but space is limited so advanced sign-ups are strongly encouraged. Teams should be between 4-6 people. Email at email@example.com to register your team name.
A typical TRIVIOKE game works as follows: We start with 2 rounds of straight up pub trivia, usually with a quirky pop culture angle. The third round is the Karaoke Trivia round, in which teams must guess a song based on a clue, and respond by singing it. We have two more rounds of pub triva, with a Karaoke Challenge in between where teams can win bonus points by choosing a karaoke-based dare. In between rounds, there are impromptu karaoke sing-alongs and other hijinks.

The VETS: One Avenue of the Arts :: Saturday 22nd :: 7 p.m. :: $35.75-$47.75
This summer, Jen and Kristin from #IMOMSOHARD are taking their show out of the playroom and onto the road. But this time, they’re bringing the kids. And a tour bus (you didn’t think they’d leave them with their husbands, did you?).
There’s no one making moms feel as uncomfortably normal as Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the hilarious oh-so-real women behind #IMomSoHard. With over 675,000 Facebook fans, and more than 55 million views of their web series, Jen and Kristin’s blend of honesty and humor offer the kinds of levity most of us only get from our therapist, proving that if we weren’t all laughing, we’d be crying, right? Right!? Sure to deliver the kind of straight talk you can only get from discussing body hair in the kids’ playroom while sipping mimosas, Kristin and Jen prove you can’t make this shi*t up.
It’s like an evening with two of your besties. But funnier. And probably with more drinking. Definitely more drinking.
