Kin Southern Table + Bar Turns 1
Kin Southern Table + Bar will be hosting their First Anniversary Party and you’re invited! The celebration will take place at 71 Washington Street, located in the Biltmore Garage, on Wednesday, March 30 starting at 3 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m.
Owner Julia Broome set out to open Kin after being laid off from her job at a Global events company due to COVID: “I thought there was no better time to change my career. I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur.”
Kin specializes in Southern Comfort food, “Soul food.” Popular menu items include their delicious fried chicken wings, catfish, handmade biscuits with honey butter, and collard greens with smoked turkey and Potlicker. The rum-focused bar slings fun crafted cocktails like “Juju Juice” and “Black Girl Magic.”
“I am so grateful to have made it through our first year with everyone’s support; especially during COVID,” says owner Julia Broome. “Unfortunately, there are many restaurants that did not. We could not have done it without the help and support of our staff, guests, and Providence.”
In addition to Kin’s menu, the restaurant will be hosting a chicken wing eating contest for various gifts and prizes. The afternoon will include a performance by the Black Out Drum Squad.
