What’s better than a cold beer outside on a sunny summer day? Lucky for us, another beer garden is opening downtown! Long Live Beergarden is coming soon to Grant’s Block, located at 260 Westminster Street (you may remember it as the space where Movies on the Block took place).

The seasonal beer garden will have its soft opening on Saturday, June 5 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., during our weekly Open Air Saturdays programming! You can catch the beer garden at every Open Air Saturdays this summer, weather permitting, as well as on Fridays and Sundays.

Long Live Beergarden is owned and operated by Armando DeDona, owner and brewmaster of Long Live Beerworks on the West Side of Providence. DeDona and Long Live Beerworks General Manager Jessica deBry are excited about the opportunity to bring Long Live to downtown Providence in an outdoor space.

“Long Live Beergarden is a celebration of summer,” deBry said. “[Armando and I have] been wanting to create a downtown beer garden for years. Through our travels to other cities, we loved exploring downtown spaces and otherwise empty lots that were transformed into summer beer garden experiences.”

To start, Long Live Beergarden will be open Fridays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The menu will consist of a variety of Long Live IPAs and lagers, as well as an assortment of regional ciders and wines. Special guest tap appearances are also anticipated throughout the season.

Guests of the beer garden are welcome to bring takeout from nearby restaurants or food trucks, and a delivery partnership with neighborhood restaurants is in the works.

“We’ve been very intentional about building our business in Providence,” says deBry. “To be able to reach a downtown audience and be a part of the greater art and culture programming aligns with our business vision and values of creating a community around beer.”
