Where to Spend New Years Eve in Providence
The glitz! The glamor! The champagne! Somehow, 2023 is fast approaching and it’s time to make those reservations for New Years Eve. If you are planning to celebrate in Rhode Island, then we have a few recommendations for restaurants doing something special for New Years Eve in downtown Providence. (Plus, we hear that a certain craft beer hall has a party planned.)

Olive oil cake at Amaryllis
Head to Amaryllis (225a Westminster Street) to toast the new year over fresh, farm-to-table fare. Alongside the regular menu items—like olive oil cake—Amaryllis will offer specials on New Years Eve: local oysters, French onion soup, squid ink risotto, and chocolate pistachio crostata. The restaurant is open from 4-10 p.m; make a reservation by messaging @amaryllisri on Instagram or calling 401-537-7177.
Drinks by The Dean Bar
Since November 2022, Thick Neck has teamed up with The Dean Bar for a fantastic restaurant pop-up at The Dean Hotel (122 Fountain Street). Together, they have something excellent cooked up for New Years Eve. Enjoy a fixed menu for two called the “thickplate” for $155 (gratuity and tax not included). The thickplate includes fried fish sandwiches, triple cooked frites, yuzu kosho slaw, oysters, a bucket of Miller Champagne High Life, and more.

Sandwiches, burgers, and sides at Durk’s Bar-B-Q
Barbecue, citrusy whiskey cocktails, pierogies... If this sounds like your dream final meal of the year 2022, then we welcome you to visit Durk’s Bar-B-Q (33 Aborn Street), folks! Along with their usual menu items, Durk’s will offer the following New Year’s Eve specials:
Smoked Armadillo Eggs ($14) - Cheddar and cream cheese stuffed jalapeños, wrapped in sausage and bacon, glazed with a sweet and sticky bbq sauce
Smoked Beef Rib ($45) - Served with chimichurri sauce, cheesy scalloped potatoes, and grilled Brussels sprouts with a mustard and bacon dressing
All You Can Eat ($60 for one; $100 for two) - Brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausages, pork belly, cornbread, mac and cheese, beans, braised kale with bacon, potato salad, and coleslaw.

Ravioli at Kleos
If you love spanakopita, marousalata, gyro, and other delicious Greek dishes, then Kleos (250 Westminster Street) is a must. Celebrate New Years Eve at Kleos with specials, a complimentary midnight toast, and Moët champagne bottles at a special discounted price of $85 per bottle! Kleos opens at 11 a.m; reservations can be made online or by calling 401-443-4083.
Pasta dishes at Oberlin
ICYMI, a big piece of Rhode Island restaurant news dropped recently: next year, Oberlin is set to move! And the owners will also open brand new restaurant Gift Horse. Both Gift Horse and the new Oberlin will open next door to each other at 272 Westminster Street and 266 Westminster Street, respectively (essentially across the street from Oberlin’s current location). But before that happens, Oberlin (186 Union Street) is celebrating New Years Eve with specials, including Gift Horse menu previews. Guests will be able to order seafood towers and oysters to get a taste of what raw bar items will be offered by the restaurant. NOTE: Reservations are now full.
Chicken Sandwich at Kin Southern Table + Bar
When looking for Soul Food in downtown Providence, Kin Southern Table + Bar (71 Washington Street) is always our go-to. The chicken and waffles! The collard greens! The mac and cheese! And for New Years Eve, Kin will have a selection of specials, along with a complimentary toast. The restaurant will be open from 5-10 p.m; reservations can be made online or by phone at 401-537-7470.
Italian charcuterie at Rosalina
At Rosalina (50 Aborn Street), the meatballs melt in your mouth, the burrata ravioli might make you cry tears of joy, and the Italian Charcuterie is no laughing matter. Head to this classic Italian restaurant on New Years Eve and enjoy a complimentary midnight toast and specials, along with a deal on $85 bottles of Moët champagne! A beer, pretzel, and salad at The Malted Barley
If you are looking for something fun, head to The Malted Barley (334 Westminster Street) for their New Years Eve party! We adore their wide selection of beers and their delectable housemade pretzels. The NYE festivities kick off at 8 p.m. and include a DJ, a free toast at midnight, drink specials, food specials, a dance floor, a picture wall, and more.
