Super Bowl LVIII in Downtown Providence
Did you know that the National Football League’s Super Bowl championship game is one of the most viewed television events nearly every year? Whether you’re in it for the snacks (cue us slowly raising our hands), to see if the Kansas City Chief’s can repeat their victory a second year in a row—as opposed to the 49ers coming out on top—or to possibly catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift, it’ll be a game to remember. We’ll be watching the Super Bowl locally, so we’re here to share the downtown Providence spots that are playing the game! They also each offer fantastic bites and drinks.
And pssst- kick off is at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 11 so make sure to find a spot to watch the Super Bowl in downtown Providence at your favorite bar well ahead of time.
TRINITY BREWHOUSE
To kick off our recommendations for the Super Bowl in downtown Providence, we’ll kick it off with Trinity Brewhouse! Trinity is on Fountain Street and it’s an iconic destination for catching a sports game. This downtown brewpub has been brewing and pouring beers since 1994, and the selection is thirst-quenching: from Trinity’s classic “Kolsch,” to the fruity and tart “Lemon Bar,” there is something for every beer drinker. We recommend ordering one of the half pound burgers with French fries, or taking advantage of the special half-off wings and pizza deal during the game (only available for in-house dining during the Super Bowl).
DURK’S BAR-B-Q
If you cannot get enough of barbecue or appreciate an impressive whiskey wall, then Durk’s Bar-B-Q on Aborn Street is the place for you. Durk’s will not only be screening the game (they’re open 12-8 p.m.) but they are also offering catering. Enjoy smoked beef brisket, smoked pork ribs, smoked chicken legs, mac and cheese, and so much more, either in the dining room at Durk’s or in the comfort of your own home. Make sure to place your Super Bowl preorder by the end of Friday, February 9!
THE MALTED BARLEY
Beer, pretzels, and football are a combination made in heaven- or made over at The Malted Barley on Westminster Street. Take a seat at the bar on Sunday, February 11 and catch (ha!) the game onscreen while enjoying a colorful flight of beers and hot pretzel sandwiches. Have someone with a gluten allergy in your party? Not to worry- The Malted Barley prides itself on the delicious house-made gluten-free soft pretzels.
