Every February, there is a pressing question on people’s minds: is winter over yet? Oh wait, no, wrong question- the big question is usually, “Where should we go to celebrate Valentine’s Day?” Whether you are celebrating the holiday with the love of your life, or you’re looking to have some fun solo or with friends, we have cute ideas for you! Check out where we recommend spending Valentine’s Day in Providence, RI (specifically in the downtown neighborhood).

“LOVE WEEK” AT CLEMENTINE COCKTAIL BAR

We love signature cocktails! If you do too, you’re in for a treat: Clementine Cocktail Bar on Washington Street has a fun lineup of programming and drinks in a weeklong promotion called “Love Week.” From February 13-17, enjoy special Valentine’s themed cocktails at the bar. On Tuesday, February 13 from 8-10 p.m., book a special tarot reading for $50 (this includes a cocktail). On Wednesday, February 14, guest chef Brian Miller takes over the kitchen at Clementine for a romantic three course meal. To make reservations—required for both the tarot reading and the guest chef night—call 401-533-1000.

GALENTINE’S COCKTAIL DEMO & FLOWER ARRANGING AT GRACIE’S

We are all about celebrating friendship, so we are pleased to share that Gracie’s on Washington Street shares the sentiment! On Thursday, February 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., sign up for an evening of cocktails/mocktails with Juliet DeMasi, Gracie’s Beverage and Spirits Leader, and flower arranging with Angela Rotondo from Bloom Back Flowers. Tickets are $90 and can be purchased here.

Also interested in a 5-7 course chef’s tasting on Valentine’s Day itself (or the days surrounding)? Make a reservation here for February 14 (plus, you can add the option of a floral arrangement from SEMIA and desserts from Ellie’s, if you so desire).

VALENTINE’S DINNER AT AMARYLLIS

Looking for a cozy, intimate place to dine on Valentine’s Day in Providence? Amaryllis on Westminster Street is one of the coziest spots, with seating lining the windows and available at the bar. Grab a bottle of wine next door at Eno Fine Wines (Amaryllis is BYOB) and then enjoy a menu crafted specifically for Valentine’s Day: it includes mushroom bourguignon polenta, lamb shawarma, tuna saku, blood orange olive oil cake, and so much more. Make a reservation for Wednesday, February 14 by calling 401-537-7177.
