We are excited to spread the news that Bali Bungalow is opening on the ground floor of the historic Kinsley Building in Downtown Providence on June 22!

The Bali Bungalow shop, located on the ground floor of Cornish Associate’s Kinsley Building, features artisanal home decor and furniture by Indonesian artists using indigenous techniques that have been passed down through generations. The grand opening celebration is open to the public and will take place from 4-7 p.m. on June 22, 2023 at 326 Westminster Street; festivities include food truck fare from Hometown Poke, light bites, and drinks.

Customers can browse lounge chairs, side tables, throws, wall decor, and more both in-store and in their online catalog. Items are made from a variety of sustainably sourced natural materials such as straw, sea grass, rattan, cotton, shells and teak wood. And a fun fact we love: Bali Bungalow supports cottage industry,  allowing artisans the flexibility to work on their craft from home.

The company was founded by Lita Amelia Bondlow and her husband Matt Bondlow in New York City in 2019.

“Bali Bungalow was born out of love and admiration towards the heritage of my motherland, Indonesia,” says Lita.  “I hope that our products will give the community in Providence a sense of tranquility and will enable them to turn their home into a visual sanctuary.”

Prior to launching the company, Lita worked in the hospitality and real estate industries, while Matt worked in magazine publishing, including prominent publications such as at Esquire, GQ, and Men’s Journal. He currently works at Scientific American. Together, they have been able to draw on all of these experiences to work with clients on custom projects including furnishing the boutique Curio Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ, Grand Heritage Bakery in NYC, and providing all seating, tables and décor for Fabel, in Miami.

So what led to Bali Bungalow opening in Providence? Lita and Matt found themselves drawn to Providence, saying, “It is the capital of the ‘ocean state,’ and Bali Bungalow is all about the beach and ocean living. Bali Bungalow sees this community as a perfect fit for our brand to grow with.”

We are so excited for Bali Bungalow to join our vibrant downtown Providence community! Show your support by checking out their website and checking our their products. For updates, make sure to give them a follow on Instagram @balibungalow.
