Celebrate Downcity 2022

It’s back! We are so pleased to announce the return of our popular annual event “Celebrate Downcity” on Nov. 26 from 12-4 p.m.

Kicking off the holiday season, the event honors our vibrant local businesses on Small Business Saturday. Celebrate Downcity will be held on Westminster Street–between Eddy Street and Union Street–in downtown Providence, RI. The event takes place both outdoors and in the adjacent shops and restaurants. Family-friendly programming will feature food truck favorites, hot beverages for adults and children, festive music, interactive holiday entertainment, and more.

Celebrate Downcity brings together Providence’s small businesses to offer guests an unforgettable holiday shopping and dining experience. We’re thrilled to welcome some of our favorite local food and beverage vendors, including Anna’s Vesuviano, Farm to Sandwich, and Spanglish, and guests can enjoy outdoor cafe-style seating in the street. Ready to cheers the holiday season? We’ll also have seasonal alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks hand crafted by RI Cruisin’ Cocktails!

For those who want to dine indoors, the following restaurants and cafes on and along Westminster Street will be open during the event: Small Point Cafe, Sura, Kleos, Little City Coffee and Kitchen, Serendipity Gourmet, and the Malted Barley.

On Westminster Street itself and the sidewalk, guests can browse sale racks from vintage store The Vault Collective and pose for photos with Santa and other interactive holiday characters by Ten31 Productions. For a well curated selection of gifts, shoppers can head inside Craftland, Queen of Hearts and Modern Love, Symposium Books and Records, The Vault Collective, Civil, Homestyle, Soulita, and Eno Fine Wines. Each shop offers a variety of unique items, including skateboards, bestselling books, vintage clothing, children’s toys and housewares.

“We’re thrilled with the line-up at Celebrate Downcity 2022,” says Joanna Levitt, Director of Commercial Leasing and Marketing for Cornish Associates. “At InDowncity, we organize festivities throughout the year, but Small Business Saturday may be our favorite. It's a special day to gather our community around the local businesses that make this city unique. It’s our way of showing gratitude for all that these small businesses contribute to the fabric of downtown Providence and it’s an amazing way to spend the holiday weekend with friends and family.”

We cannot wait to celebrate our city and support small businesses with you, PVD!
