JONATHAN VAN NESS SHOW GIVEAWAY FOR LIL RHODY LAUGH RIOT 2025

We’re counting down the days to when Rhode Island’s comedy festival, Lil Rhody Laugh Riot, kicks off from March 27-30! And did you hear that Jonathan Van Ness is coming to Providence for it, as part of their Hot and Healed tour?

So we’re running a giveaway (ends on Friday, March 14) over at @indowncitypvd on Instagram for two (2) tickets to see JVN on March 29 at The Vets! Plus a $200 gift card to The Malted Barley for drinks and bites during their Comedy Trivia Nights on March 27-30.

You can enter the giveaway right here on Instagram. JVN’s show takes place at 9:45 pm at The Vets; attendees must be over the age of 18. Comedy Trivia at The Malted Barley starts at 4:30 pm on March 27-30.

MARCH MADNESS PROGRAMMING IN DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE

It’s that time of year again: the best of the best NCAA basketball teams are facing off during March Madness! And there’s plenty going on in Providence, including games at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on March 20 and 22! Don’t have tickets to the games but want to eat, drink, and be merry in the city while watching? Check out the block parties!

Full details coming soon, but as a little taste test of the fun: Trinity Brewhouse on Fountain Street will have drinks, food, DJs, and more under a pop-up tent on Adrian Hall Way.

Want to sip like a champion? The Malted Barley on Westminster Street will be showing the games and sharing beers from certain home states of the various teams!

And Durk’s Bar-B-Q on Aborn Street will also have a special outdoor bar on Saturday, March 22 starting at 12 pm; they’ll also play all the games on their screens and, as always, serve up delicious smoked and barbecued dishes.

GUEST CHEF NIGHT AT CLEMENTINE COCKTAIL BAR

In our opinion, Providence is a city that punches well above its weight when it comes to the food scene. Part of this is due to the presence of Johnson and Wales University and its lauded culinary program.

And on Tuesday, March 25, get a taste of delicious dishes crafted by three JWU graduates as part of Clementine Cocktail Bar’s Chef Night!

The Chef Night includes a three course meal for $70 per person. Reservations are required, and there are seatings at 6 and 8 pm.
