And we understand how challenging it can be to wade through all the happenings and decide what events to attend, where to eat, and what to shop for. That’s why we’re here to share the top things we’re excited about in the coming week in each installment of “The Weekly.” Each week, we’ll rant and rave unabashedly about just a slice of the food, fun, and fantastic items that we’re currently obsessed with in downtown Providence, RI.

INDOWNCITY GIVEAWAY: TICKETS TO THE DUMOL WINE DINNER AT OBERLIN
Calling all wine lovers: Providence restaurant Oberlin has the sumptuous DuMol Wine Dinner coming up on Thursday, March 27 for the Providence Culinary Collective!
And we’re giving one lucky, randomly-selected winner a pair of tickets to the 5 pm seating. The event includes a four-course meal featuring wines from DuMol’s 2022 vintage. You can enter our giveaway at @indowncitypvd on Instagram; but don’t wait- we’ll randomly select a winner at 12 pm on Friday, March 21.

The Providence Culinary Collective kicks off March 27-30, with tastings, dinners, and more. We’re very excited for this inaugural food festival, especially since it features some of InDowncity’s go-to spots, including Oberlin.
A SPECIAL DOWNTOWN BEER GARDEN FOR PROVIDENCE CULINARY COLLECTIVE
Want to taste beers from all around Rhode Island, right here in downtown Providence? On Thursday, March 27-30, Trinity Brewhouse will host the Culinary Beer Garden in Adrian Hall Way as part of the inaugural Providence Culinary Collective!
Trinity is partnering with various local breweries to showcase their beers, so each day guests can taste a selection from Ravenous, Ragged Island, Gansett, and Proclamation (along with Trinity). There will also be delicious barbecue available from Durk’s Bar-B-Q, DJs spinning some tunes each day, and special live music on Sunday.
The beer garden runs from 4-9:30 pm and is tented, so come rain or shine!
ELLIE’S OFFERS MACARON INTRODUCTORY BAKING CLASS
We were beyond elated when we heard this week that downtown Providence bakery and eatery Ellie’s is once again hosting French macaron baking classes. The next class isn’t until Tuesday, April 8, but these classes tend to fill up quickly, so don’t waste any time signing up!
From Ellie’s: “Guided by Chef Melissa, you’ll discover the art of crafting Ellie’s signature macarons—from achieving the perfect shell to mastering tinting and decorating techniques that make these delicate confections truly shine.”
The class is $150 per person and lasts from 5-7:30 pm. Learners will also receive light snacks and one glass of wine or a nonalcoholic beverage during the class.
