Exciting news, PVD: the day has arrived! Popular Providence restaurant Oberlin is NOW open to the public at its brand new location!

The restaurant is open to the public Thursday through Monday from 5-10:30 p.m, to start. This modern and delicious culinary destination was previously at 186 Union Street. Now, Oberlin has relocated to a new location right across Grant’s Block at 266 Westminster Street in downtown Providence, RI. ICYMI, the new digs are within the same building as new sister restaurant Gift Horse, which is at 272 Westminster Street; Oberlin and Gift Horse are connected and share the first floor of the Trayne Building.

The two establishments are headed by Benjamin Sukle, a James Beard award winner and the owner and chef of Oberlin, Gift Horse, and birch (now closed). Bethany Caliaro, longtime manager at Oberlin, is a partner in both restaurants.

Oberlin was originally opened at 186 Union Street in 2016. It has since then been lauded by the James Beard Foundation, New York Times, Bon Appetit, and other reputable publications and organizations.

The restaurant’s new location includes expanded hours (meaning brunch and lunch later on down the road, we hear), an indoor wood fire, and extensive new seating with a lovely outdoor patio. The menu continues to include the items we adore and dream of: fresh housemade pastas and breads, seasonal vegetables, and raw bar items. But the wine cellar and bar offerings will include even more variety (the Sonora Sour is a gorgeous cocktail, btw) and a delicious array of wood fired items join the menu.

We adore the new Oberlin location, and cannot wait to for you to experience it too. For updates about Oberlin’s new location, hours, reservations, and menu, visit their website and follow on Instagram at @oberlin_pvd. Cheers to Oberlin’s relocation and all the delicious things ahead!
