The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face off during the 57th Super Bowl Championship game, and it’s time to plan what food will be facing off on the snack table!

For anyone based in or near to Providence, RI, we’re here to help you make a game plan (pun intended). If the plan is to throw a party at home, we recommend putting together a glorious spread of tasty items and takeout from businesses in downtown Providence. Start by grabbing a spread of snacks from Rory’s Market + Kitchen. We went with a variety of chips, dips, cheese pizza snacks, mini corn dogs, fresh vegetables, and Culture Pop Soda. We also grabbed a couple of beers from Eno Fine Wines, including locally brewed Shaidzon Beer Co’s West Kingstown Brown Ale.

If you have a little time to plan ahead, then we’re here to tell you that Kin Southern Table + Kitchen is offering Game Day Boxes. Each box includes your choice of four items—such as the pulled pork sliders pictured—and enough portions to feed eight to ten people. Get your order in by Wednesday, February 8 (or whenever they sell out) and pick up on the day of the Super Bowl. We also hear that Oberlin is offering Take and Bake Lasagnas, with meat and without meat, for the big game. Make sure to place an order by Thursday, February 9th, and pick up on Sunday, February 12.

Durk’s Bar-B-Q also offers catering and takeout. Check out their catering packages: each package includes a variety of smoked meats (we love the brisket) and sides and can feed anywhere from twelve to 80 people. If you don’t need quite those portions, you can take a leaf out of our book and order takeout from Durk’s. Most recently, we went with spicy chicken sausage, mac and cheese, and cole slaw.

On the other hand, if you’re dreaming of sitting down somewhere in the city with a dram of whiskey and piping hot ribs, Durk’s will also be screening the Super Bowl at their restaurant on Aborn Street. Pretzel and a few pints of beer more your style? Look no further than The Malted Barley on Westminster Street! Take a seat at the bar and enjoy watching the championship with a crew of other fans. Just a few blocks over, Trinity Brewhouse has a few special deals for all fans dining in while catching the game at the restaurant: half off chicken wings and $5 cheese pizzas.

We’re looking forward to seeing the game… And we’re arguable even more excited to munch on so many tasty things while supporting local businesses in downtown Providence, RI! If you order based on any of our recommendations, make sure to tag us on Instagram @indowncitypvd for a re-share.
