VALENTINE’S & GALENTINE’S DAY SHOPPING EVENT
Romance is in the air with the fast approach of Valentine’s Day! Whether you’d like to celebrate this season of love with friends or your sweetheart, downtown Providence boutique Queen of Hearts and Modern Love has something fun planned: a Valentine’s Day/Galentine’s Day celebration on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 4-7 pm.
Enjoy complimentary bubbles, both real and dried flower arrangements (arrangements will be available Feb. 13-14), a Gavelmade jewelry pop-up, a free bag charm with the purchase of any handbag, plus other activities and gifts.
SUPER BOWL TAKE & BAKE LASAGNA PRE-ORDERS
What is some sporty competition without hearty fare? (We’d prefer not to know the answer to such a question, personally.) If you’re looking for something delicious to eat while watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9, look no further: James Beard Foundation award nominee and popular Providence restaurant Oberlin has pre-orders open for their take and bake lasagnas!
Select a lasagna—with meat or meatless—along with sides such as Kohlrabi Caesar Salad and Sourdough Country Loaf, and all you’ll have to do is pick up the goods and then bake at home. Make sure to get those pre-orders in right here by Friday, Feb. 7.
DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE BRANDY TASTING
Whether it’s wine, tequila, beers, or something else, we’re always down for a tasting of any kind! And on Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 5-7 pm, The Eddy is hosting a delicious tasting featuring Laird’s Apple Brandy. Head to The Eddy at 95 Eddy Street for a night of cocktails featuring products from Laird’s. Representatives from the brand will be at this delightful cocktail bar to provide a free tasting of a variety of their products.
Hungry and thirsty for more? The Eddy is a beautiful, moody cocktail spot with a stunning lineup of rotating original cocktails and light bites.
ARTIST RECEPTION AT GRACIE’S
Looking for something artsy to do this upcoming week? Fine dining restaurant Gracie’s is introducing their “Featured Winter Artist” at their Opening Reception on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 5-6:30 pm. Head to Gracie’s at 194 Washington Street and check out the reception in the private dining room downstairs.
Guests will be able to mingle and meet artist Marjorie Ball while sipping complimentary wine and a selection of cheeses.
A little bit about the artist (according to Gracie’s): “Marjorie Ball grew up on Long Island. Her early love of drawing and painting was encouraged and developed by classes at the Art Students League, Pratt Institute, and private painting lessons with a local professional illustrator. After graduating from Syracuse University school of art she worked as an illustrator, freelance graphic designer, and art educator in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Throughout those years, she painted and exhibited her work in local exhibitions, waiting for a chance to follow her heart and paint every day.”
SUPER BOWL WATCH PARTY & CATERING PRE-ORDERS
Not sure where to catch (hah! We couldn’t resist such a pun) the big game on Sunday, Feb. 9? Durk’s Bar-B-Q on Aborn Street will be showing the Super Bowl Championship on their televisions and huge projector screen in the restaurant. Make a reservation online here and sit back, relax, and munch on barbecue, local beers, and more.
Or, if you’ll be hosting game day, make sure to get your pre-orders in ahead of time! Durk’s offers a variety of party packages so you can take that brisket and those chicken legs home. Check out the catering details here.
VALENTINE’S DAY BAKERY PRE-ORDERS & A SWEET EVENT
If you are a romantic with a sweet tooth, we have a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day coming up! Head to Ellie’s for “Sucrée - A Sweet Tasting Soiree” on Friday, Feb. 14 from 6-9 pm.
